Oven-Baked Spiced Salmon and Asparagus Recipe

🍽️ Spiced Salmon and Asparagus in the Oven
An elegant, healthy main course that is easy to prepare at home.
🛒 Ingredients (serves 2):
For the salmon:
2 salmon fillets
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder or 1 clove of grated garlic
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Salt
For the asparagus:
1 bunch of asparagus (tough ends trimmed)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sea salt and black pepper
Optional grated Parmesan cheese for topping
👩🍳 Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 200°C (190°C if fan-assisted).
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Prepare the salmon fillets.
In a bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
Spread this mixture on both sides of the salmon. Sprinkle with salt.
Prepare the asparagus.
Rub the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Arrange them next to the salmon on the tray.
Bake in the oven.
Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes. The outside of the salmon should be lightly browned and the inside should remain soft. The asparagus should be slightly crispy.
Serving suggestion:
You can grate Parmesan cheese over the asparagus when it comes out of the oven. Place the salmon and asparagus on a serving plate, and if desired, garnish with a few slices of lemon for an elegant presentation.
💡 Tip:
Be careful not to overcook the salmon; stick to the ideal cooking time to prevent it from losing its moisture. If you can’t find asparagus, you can also try broccoli or fresh beans.
